Q:  Why do my bulbs keep burning out prematurely?
A:   Poor conductivity between the bulb and socket will create  heat build up. Which will cause
the bulb to burn out.  When replacing a bulb, always make sure it is secured firmly in place to
ensure a good connection.  If your fixture is very old, the socket may have lost its tension and
should be replaced.

Q:  Why aren’t my kitchen counter outlets not working?
A:  You may have a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) receptacle which has tripped.  To
reset a GFCI  receptacle, push in the reset button and listen for a click.
If its still not working, check the circuit breaker or call a licensed electrician.

Q: Why does my GFCI receptacle keep tripping?
A:  You may have a defective appliance,  To check, unplug the appliance and try pushing the
reset button.  If it does not trip again, then the problem may lie in the appliance.  If it still trips,
you should consult a licensed electrician to locate the problem.

Q:  Why doesn’t my circuit breaker stay on?
A:  If you have a tripped circuit breaker, unplug everything on that circuit.  Push the circuit
breaker into the complete off position and then turn it back on.  If it continues to trip, please
consult a licensed electrician to locate the problem.

Q:  Why are half of the lights in my house out?
A:  There may be a problem with the utility company, the main breaker or the meter.  You will
need to call a licensed electrician to diagnose the problem.

Q:  Should I turn off my computer during a storm?
A:  All electrical appliances, including computers, should be UNPLUGGED during an electrical
storm.  This will prevent lightning from destroying any appliances.
